Cobun Creek reservoir project slows due to recent wet weather

Cobun Creek was moved and work started on a dam footer, both part of the Flegal Dam and Reservoir project.
“We are 10% complete with the Flegal Dam and Reservoir project based on expenditures,” Morgantown Utility Board Spokesman Chris Dale said in an email to The Dominion Post. “Cobun Creek has been relocated, excavation for the dam footer is underway and the contractor (Kanawha Stone) is currently dewatering the dam footer area. Soil and stone from excavation are being stockpiled on-site for dam construction. While progress has been hampered by wet weather, the contractor assures us that the pace of construction will soon increase significantly.”
