Charlotte Dawn (Johnson) Ogden

Charlotte Dawn (Johnson) Ogden, 68, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., passed away on June 25, 2019, after a trip to Italy. She was kindhearted, compassionate and giving, a loving mother and wife who spoiled her grandchildren without complaint, always smiling.
Charlotte was born in Morgantown to Gerald and Eileen Johnson on Nov. 16, 1950, graduating from Morgantown High School in 1968. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology from West Virginia University and a master’s degree in public policy from Johns Hopkins University.
She was a social worker and advisor for the West Virginia Department of Welfare before moving to suburban Washington, D.C., in 1983. As she made her home in the D.C. area, Charlotte accepted a position with the National Association of Social Workers. She later took roles as director of Library Information Systems at the National Center for Social Policy and Practice, and similar positions at the National Association of Home Builders and Hanley Wood Publishing, before pursuing her true passion for all things vintage by opening her heirloom children’s boutique in 2003.
Charlotte married David Ogden in 2013 in a vintage style wedding at her home with her beautiful grandchildren as attendants. Charlotte and Dave spent their time traveling, cooking, reading, relaxing and welcoming family and friends in their newfound home near the beach in South Carolina.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Dave; her sons, Jason Reppy (Erin), of Columbia, S.C., and Kevin Reppy (Tracey), of Charlotte, N.C.; her stepdaughter, Brooke Ogden McCarthy (Scott); stepson, Christopher Ogden (Mindy); her brothers, Daniel Johnson, of Fairmont, and Richard Johnson, of Morgantown; and her ex-spouse, Don Reppy, of Bethesda, Md. Charlotte was “Grammie” to her beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Olivia, Ashlyn, David and Landon.
A celebration of life will be held at The Marriott Waterfront, Two Waterfront Place, in Morgantown, from 2-4 p.m. July 13.
