Morris Mobile Home Park bids for $777k; Marvin Wotring home up for auction Friday

MORGANTOWN — The highest bid for the 7.5-acre Morris Mobile Home Park on Manchester Drive was $777,000, according to Joe R. Pyle Complete Auction and Realty Service.
The mostly flat parcel of land is located just behind Shorty’s Garage and sits outside Morgantown’s city limits.
Tia Wolski of Joe R. Pyle, declined to comment on the sale until the agreement is seen by all of the beneficiaries, some of whom live out of state. That property was sold at auction Wednesday morning.
Results from Wednesday’s second auction, 459 Tyrone Road, a 3,400-square-foot home that sits on 20 wooded acres, were not available and not posted on the Kelly web site. That home, built in 1957, has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and vaulted ceilings and garage space for at least four vehicles.
The home also has imported Italian marble, as well as original stonework throughout the home, a large library and lots of open space. It was for sale last month for a list price of $624,900.
Jordan Kiger, a Pyle auctioneer, handled the Tyrone property. He did not return calls or emails seeking comment.
On May 3, the Shinnston auction house will auction off the home of Marvin Wotring, best known for making the WVU Mountaineer muskets.
Wotring, a gunsmith, died in December at the age of 78. His estate includes 130 guns — not all made by him — plus tools, furniture, household goods, antique toys and other items.
This auction is scheduled for 4 p.m., Friday at the Sagebrush Roundup Country Music Hall, 2580 Bunner Ridge Road, Fairmont because a larger than usual crowd is expected.
