Morgantown Post 2 edges Fort Cumberland, 2-1

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Caleb Taylor and Gavin Cottle combined to scatter nine hits and three walks June 21 as the Morgantown Post 2 American Legion baseball team edged Fort Cumberland, 2-1.
Colton Matthews collected two of Post 2’s seven hits and drove in a run. Andrew Berry went hitless but got an RBI with a sacrifice fly.
Ethan Smith also had two hits for Morgantown, one of them a double.
Post 2 won the game with a run in the ninth, making a winner of Cottle, who pitched two innings and allowed two hits. Taylor went the first seven innings, allowing an unearned run.
