Scattered thunderstorms to continue throughout the week

MORGANTOWN — The weather will remain inconsistent this week, aside from warm temperatures hanging around.
Afternoon and evening thunderstorms caused some flash flood warnings for Monongalia and Preston counties Monday.
And today will remain pretty much the same, with a mix of sun, rain and thunderstorms that are difficult to predict, said John Feerick, AccuWeather senior meterologist.
“It’s going to be a bit of an unsettled week here,” he said.
Today will start out warm and humid in the morning hours, and then more showers and thunderstorms may pass through the area in the afternoon and evening. There is also the potential for more flash flooding, Feerick added.
A front is moving into the area, which will stick around Wednesday and Thursday.
“If there’s a dry period in there, it’s probably Wednesday night into Thursday morning, maybe,” Feerick said.
But when it comes down to hourly forecasts, it’s going to be tough to pinpoint those wet vs. dry moments.
“I guess if there’s good news, at least it’s warm,” he said.
